Description

VIEW DESCRIPTION

A German M40 helmet. The type of helmet issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polizei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Heer.

Paint: Original factory paint. Around 80% still present. Signs of wear and slight rust pitting.

Decals: The eagle decal is about 95%.

Lining: Clean with cord with some writing added by the wearer to the leather - marked size 56. The prongs look to have been opened once.

Chin strap: Complete. maker marked and dated 1941.

Markings: Nicely stamped ET62 and 815 and a very light inspection stamp in blue ink on the dome.
