Fire brigade etched sabre - 1884
Description
The sabre comes with a beautifully etched blade on three sides with the inscription "Herrn Hauptmann Vioffand gewidmet von seiner Feuerwehrkompanie zu seinem Namenstag den 13. Oktober 1884". The inscription is also very nicely decorated. "WKC" maker marked. Stains on both sides.
Rayskin finished grip with wire wrapping. Brass handle fittings. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings.
Length: 98 cm.
Traces of wear. Overall condition 2.
The sabre was a gift to Captain Vioffand from his fire-fighting company for his name day on October 13, 1884.
