Textbook example of a mid-war German M40 helmet. The type of helmet issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polizei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Heer.
Paint: Original factory paint. Around 80% still present. Signs of wear and slight rust pitting.
Decals: The eagle decal is about 90%.
Lining: Clean with original cord and some minor cracking soft leather - marked size 54 with some additonal stamps on the inside of the lining. The prongs may have been opened once.
Chin strap: Complete
Markings: Nicely stamped ET62 and 803 with an inspection stamp in blue ink on the dome.
