Grouping to Gefreiten Herbert Vater serving with Landesschützen-Bataillon 888 and 890. Killed in action on 28.02.1943 in the east.
Heer etched dress bayonet KS 98. One-sided etched blade showing a "large" national eagle in the center and the inscription "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit". Made by Robert Klaas, Solingen. Light stains on both sides. Black Bakelite grip plates. Original black-painted steel scabbard which is free of dents. Includes the brown leather frog and bayonet knot.
Length of bayonet: 40 cm (long type).
The photo album comes with a total of 85 photos and shows his service from 3. June to 25. October 1940. Some of the photos are accompanied by his hand-written notes.
His death card. Gefreiter Vater was also a member of the SA and DAF.
