The blade shows the etched motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" on the front. "RICH.ABR.HERDER SOLINGEN" maker marked on the back. Slight stains and slide wear on both sides.
Black wooden handle with inlaid SS roundel and eagle - minor traces of patina on the eagle. The handle some digs and scratches but overall looks good and tight to the fittings. Stamped "I" on the lower crossguard. Early nickel fittings. Steel scabbard comes with the original black finishbut with some wear and light surface corrosion. All four screws are in position and pommel nut appear to not have been opened for many years. The ball has a dent.
Including the complete black leather hanger. "A" (Assmann) maker marked and "DRGM" marked to the snap clip. Fully working.
