Description

Rare grouping to SS-Sturmmann Josef Tscherne serving with SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment "Nordland". Part of the 5. SS-Panzerdivision "Wiking"

Certificate to Close Combat Clasp in Bronze. Field made. Issued on 04.04.1943. Hand-signed by an SS-Obersturmbannführer. Used condition.

Certificate to Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze. Field made. It was issued on the same day as the "Nahkampfspange" and was also signed by the same SS-Obersturmbannführer.

Certificate to Wound Badge in Black. Issued on 04.09.1943. Signed by an Oberstabsarzt.

A newspaper clipping showed that Josef Tscherne was the youngest soldier from Lower Styria and a Waffen-SS volunteer. 

Waffen-SS and HJ 25 photos of his service. Among them are excellent portrait photos showing him as an HJ leader and Waffen-SS Sturmmann. In 12 photos he is wearing the Close Combat Clasp. Also, a shot of a Gebirgsjäger who was awarded the Narvik Shield. In two photos you can also see the "WIKING" cuff title.
