Description

General von Rintelen served as German militaria attachè in Italy. At the beginning of the Second World, he was given the title "Bevollmächtigter Deutscher General beim Hauptquartier der italienischen Streitkräfte" (German General at the Headquarters of the Italian Armed Forces). On 01.09.1943, Rintelen was transferred to the Führerreserve. He was awarded the German Cross in Silver on 31.12.1944 for his services and was retired at the same time.


Privately purchased four-pocket tunic from field-grey gabardine worn by General Enno von Rintelen.

Classic early design featuring slanted-cut lower pocket flaps. Red vertical piping along the button line.

Buttons: Gilt. Complete
Breast eagle: Gold bullion hand-embroidered type for Generals. Green backing. Attached by hand.
Collar tabs: Excellent quality examples with nice patina. Attached by machine. 
Shoulder boards. Excellent boards for a General with two silver large size pips.

Several loops for a long ribbon bar and several awards including the German Cross in silver. Applied in the period time with clear signs of wear. 

Standard issue AFRIKA cufftitle applied by hand. 

Fine silk lining. Applied name tag "v. Rintelen". Dated "Okt. 1941".

A very fine quality tunic in beautiful condition with all insignia applied in the period. Extremely rare.
