Description

Unissued arm shield of the Free Corps “Tannenberg Bund”

The Tannenbergbund (TB), known in German as Tannenberg Union, emerged in September 1925 following encouragement from Konstantin Hierl and with the support of former German Army general Erich Ludendorff. Aligned with the Völkisch movement, it aimed to oppose the Der Stahlhelm veterans association and the restructured Sturmabteilung (SA) of the Nazi Party. Despite its aspirations to unite the far-right, the TB faltered and dwindled well before its official prohibition by Nazi authorities in September 1933.
