VIEW DESCRIPTION

SS Service Dagger to Hans Strobel serving with SS-Totenkopfstandarte 1 "Oberbayern".

Nickel-plated steel blade showing the etched motto of the SS "Meine Ehre heißt Treue". RZM "120/34 SS" maker marked (unknown). Small spots on both sides.

Black wooden handle with inlaid SS roundel and national eagle. The recipient carved his initials "HSt" on the back of the handle. Early nickel fittings. "I" stamped (Munich). Original black anodized steel scabbard with nickel fittings. The ball has a dent. All four screws are in place. Engraved on the upper fitting "SS-Totenkopfstandarte 1 Oberbayern - Hans Strobel".

Includes the black leather hanger. Missing snap clip.

Traces of wear.

The same type of this SS Service Dagger is published in the reference book "Die Dienstdolche und Degen der Schutzstaffel SS und Polizei" by Ralf Siegert on pages 168 and 169.
