Description

Bronze oxidized.

The Luftgau plaque of the Feld-Luftgaukommando West France was a non-wearable award of the German Air Force during the Second World War, which was intended to be donated by General of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Eugen Weißmann in the summer of 1944 for the members of the Feld-Luftgaukommando West France. However, this was not possible because Weißmann was wounded, and also because the relevant certificates of ownership were still missing at the time. On July 1, 1944, Weißmann handed over command to his successor, General of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Karl Drum. The only official awarding of the medal of honor to a Luftwaffe staff assistant took place under him on August 5, 1944.
