Description

Photo grouping to Major Johannes Grimminger serving as commander of the Panzergrenadier-Regiment 192, part of the 21. Panzer-Division. Major Grimminger was killed in action on 16. April 1945 near Forst (Lausitz, Silesia) during a  "Feuerüberfall" by the Soviet-Russian forces.

There are 80 period-time photos of his war service. The photos show other German Cross in Gold and Knight's Cross winners, such as Hauptmann Ströhle and Oberst Anton Grasser. One photograph shows Grimmer with his German Cross in Gold. There are also nice shots of camo helmets and photos of the front and downed Russian aircraft. Some of the photos are accompanied by handwritten notes.

Letter of congratulations from the commander of Infantry Regiment 119 Oberst Anton Grasser on his promotion. Hand-signed by Grasser. Dated 8. March 1941. Oberst Grasser was awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves.

In addition a letter from the Julius Eispert company.
