Description

The plaque is made of zinc. Remains of the silver plating are present. Issued for cultural merits in the area of the North Sea Naval Station. Artist's signature by Otto Placzek.

Not easy to find. Diameter: 75 mm. Signs of wear.

Gorch Fock was a German writer, his real name was Johann Wilhelm Kinau (1880-1916). He was killed in the Battle of Jutland "Skagerrakschlacht" on 31. May 1916. Two training ships were named after him in 1933 and 1958.
