VIEW DESCRIPTION

Large bronze bust of General der Flieger Günther Korten. Mounted on a black/green marble base. No significant chipping.

Rare to find in this size.

General der Flieger Günther Korten served as Generalstabschef of the Luftwaffe. Knight's Cross and German Cross in Gold winner. On 20. July 1944, he was seriously wounded in the assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler (20 July plot). Two days later he died. Korten was posthumously promoted to Generalleutnant and awarded the Wound Badge of the 20. July 1944.
