Very nice M1940 Luftwaffe green textured camouflage combat helmet. Helmet is an « Q62 » with a lot number of « 8550 ». Exterior features a nice camouflage application of green paint with a mixture of small wood chips. The helmets exterior shows some wear but overall in good condition. Some scarps along the front, scuffs in scattered places and edge wear around the rim. The Luftwaffe decal is visible underneath the camouflage finish. The camouflage finish remains mostly in a matte feel with evidence of brush strokes in the detailed photos below. The helmets interior remains untouched and in its original state, the leather is a little bit dry with a few damages. The leather liner is complete, retaining its original drawstring and leather chinstrap. The chinstrap is maker marked. A piece of the original issue camouflage netting is still present and attached to the helmet liner, which is a very nice and interesting detail. A great helmet that can be classified as a Luftwaffe ground forces helmet and would display nicely with a camouflage ground jacket.
