Description

A private-purchase Heer Waffenrock "parade tunic". Typical design with dark green collar and cuffs. No pockets.

 

Branch: Artillery. An unknown Gebirgs-Artillerie regiment
Shoulder boards: NCO type. Dark green wool with red piping. 
Collar tabs: Red base with embroidery. Hand-attached sloppy but in the period. 
Collar: Dark green with Red piping.
Right sleeve badge: Gebirgstruppen badge. Hand embroidered officer's style.  Attached by hand.
Left sleeve badge: Signals trade badge with red embroidery on a dark green base. Attached by hand.
Breast eagle: Hand-embroidered. Officer's style. Dark green base. Originally attached by hand, 
Buttons: All buttons are complete and period attached.
Lining: Fine silk.

 

The tunic has an Eastern medal ribbon at the front 3rd button. There is damage underneath one of the armholes.

 

Heer Visor Cap

As part of the lot, there is also a well-worn Heer Artillery visor cap for EM and NCOs.. The cap is made from field-grey cloth and a dark green band and has red piping. 

 

Insignia: Aluminum cap eagle. Aluminum wreath badge. 
Chin strap: textbook black strap for EM and NCOs. Correct buttons period time attached.
Lining: Silk
Celluloid diamond: intact
Maker's mark: N. Schega & Neffe. Graz
Sweat-band: Present and heavily soiled.

The cap is well used but in good condition, with one moth hole at the top.
