Beschreibung

A very high-quality and extensive estate of SS-Hauptsturmführer and SS-Richter (SS-Judge) Walter Resek. SS number 298.773 - NSDAP number 362.013. He served with various units and offices of the SS. 

Here are the units we found in the numerous documents:

- Kommando 1. Kosaken-Division 

- Division z.b.V. 300, Kriegsberichter of the Estonian SS-Grenzschutz-Regiment 6 (Pol.)

- Höheren SS- und Polizeiführer, Führungsstab für Bandenbekämpfung im Bereich des Wehrkreis XVIII

Certificate to Austrian Anschluss Medal. Issued on 12.06.1939. Facsimile signature.

Certificate to Austrian Anschluss Medal. Issued on 23.06.1939. Facsimile signature.

Certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 13.09.1941. Hand-signed by SS-Brigadeführer and Generalmajor of the Waffen-SS Felix Steiner, Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords winner.

Certificate to Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze. Field made. Issued on 20.02.1942. Hand-signed by SS-Oberführer Fritz von Scholz, Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords winner.

Certificate to East Medal. Awarded on 21.06.1944. Hand-signed by SS-Obergruppenführer and General of the Waffen-SS Franz Breithaupt (one of Heinrich Himmler's closest collaborators).

Award booklet to DRL German Sports Badge. His photo is in place. He was awarded the bronze grade.

A document that allows him to wear the "Alter Kämpfer" chevron. Dated "01.04.1940".

SS-Hauptsturmführer Walter Resek was also awarded the NS-Studentenbund Honor Badge. Award numbers 2708 and 3999 (he lost the first badge). Included are two documents of the Reichsstudentenführer. 

Promotion documents

Large-size promotion document. Promoted to Gerichtsassessor. Issued on 14.09.1942. Hand-signed by Reichsminister der Justiz Otto Georg Thierack. Facsimile signature by Adolf Hitler. With the original folder. 

SS promotions to SS-Sturmmann der Reserve, SS-Unterscharführer der Reserve, SS-Rottenführer der Reserve, SS-Oberscharführer, SS-Untersturmführer der Reserve der Waffen-SS, SS-Obersturmführer der Reserve der Waffen-SS, and SS-Hauptsturmführer der Reserve der Waffen-SS. 

One promotion was signed by SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Waffen-SS Felix Steiner, Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords winner. Also two signatures of SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Adolf Katz.

Documents and autographs

The grouping consists of countless documents: SS and judicial documents, private documents, documents on his captivity as a prisoner of war, and his life after the war. The estate therefore offers plenty of scope for further research. 

Late war "Dienstreiseschein" travel document. Dated "19.04.1945". Signed by Generalleutnant Helmuth von Pannwitz, Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves. 

We were able to identify the following autographs: Bundesführer of the NS-Studentenbund Gerhard Rühle, Reichsgerichtsrat  Robert Kauer, NSDAP Kreispersonalamtsleiter Karl Neuhuber, SS-Hauptsturmführer Gerhard Steinert, SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Waffen-SS Franz Breithaupt, SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Polizei Erwin Rösener, SS-Obersturmbannführer Werner Pfau, and SS-Sturmbannführer Walther Eigner. 

Soldbuch and ID cards

SS Soldbuch "Ersatzausfertigung". Issued on 31.10.1944. His photo is in place. Listed units: 1. Kosaken-Division and SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 31. Awards: Austrian Anschluss Medal, 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class, Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze, East Medal, and 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords. Noted on page 30. He was also allowed to wear the sleeve badge of the Cossack division. Complete with all the pages. Nice condition.

Austrian NSDAP membership booklet. Issued on 02.04.1932. He joined the party on 05.12.1930. Original photo. Stamps of the membership fees from 1931 to 1932. Walter Resek served as an SA-Sturmführer with SA-Standarte 4 Wien. Complete with all the pages.

NSDAP membership card. Issued on 30.06.1939. Facsimile signature by Reichsschatzmeister Schwarz. 

NS-Studentenbund membership booklet. Issued on 27.01.1933. He joined the Studetenbund on 10.10.1930. Original photo.

Allgemeine-SS membership card. Issued on 05.09.1939. He served as an SS-Scharführer with SS-Sturm 5/11 Wien. Signed by an SS-Oberführer and a facsimile signature by Heinrich Himmler. 

"Staatsanwalt" prosecutor identification card. Issued on 03.04.1943. Original photo.

Photos/photo albums

Three Waffen-SS photo albums showing his war service with the SS-Regiment "Nordland" on the Eastern Front. Photographs of the soldiers wearing the cuff title "Nordland" and camo clothing, of the front, destroyed buildings and vehicles, graves of the fallen SS soldiers, machine gun crews, a shot of a captured Russian machine gun and flag, a Knight's Cross winner of the army, SS officers, and the daily life at the front. Total: 208 photos.

Additional 37 further SS and SA photos of him. Among them are excellent SS portrait photos of him, passport photos, early NSDAP/SA photos, a shot of Rudolf Hess and Franz Ritter von Epp, and an early photo of Hermann Göring, wearing the SA service tunic.

Various books and booklets, including service regulations. Some of the books have a dedication to Walter Walter Resek. Some of the autographs are listed under "documents and autographs".
