Medal on the so called “Rütli Oath", listed as # 297 on Page 84 in, Kienast, Gunter. W., The Medals of Karl Goetz, Kienast, Gunter. W., Cleveland, Ohio, 1967,

The medal described depicts two scenes:

Obverse: Krupp Works factory workers are gathered around a "swearing hand" held aloft on a stick. They raise their right arms in a gesture of taking an oath of passive resistance, under pressure from management. Family members, including a wife with children on the left and a father motioning to his son on the right, observe the scene. The inscription reads "Der Rütli Schwur" (The Rütli Oath). "Essen" is noted in the lower part.

Reverse: The top inscription reads "Ostern A•D•Ruhr" (Easter at the Ruhr), dated 1923. A deceased Krupp worker lies on the ground. Nearby is a marker topped with a French helmet and a wreath labeled "14 Tote" (14 Dead). In the background, factories are still in operation. The exergue includes the initials K •G.
