M40 helmet with cammoflage paint which was used by the field police. Possibly with an SS-Polizei-Division.
A rare double decal helmet with Police eagle mostly covered and worn but the swaztika decal mostly intact. The helmet exhibits full original sprayed camo paint but was painted black after the war and subsequently removed. The Helmet steel is market ET66 and lot marked 801 with black paint on the inside.
Original attached leather liner with the rivets having been opened at some point. Liner is marked 59 (big size) and named to both Obw Pinzinger and Peter Sterzel. Includes original chin strap. Both very soft and in nice condition.
While restored still a rare and interesting helmet.
