This 2nd Type based on the German Cross was made by “Kompff” in burnished iron, frame, helmet applications (one missing), eyelet and ribbon ring in silver, the helmet is double riveted on the reverse and shows the manufacturer's name as well.
Exceptionally rare! According to Werner Sauer 68 decorations were awarded. Sauer had published the names and dates of all awardees.
Even with that small shortcoming an almost unrecoverable gem for any Napoleonic medal collection.
