A true and worn Waffen-SS M1940 officers overseas cap. The cap was recently found in a US veteran’s estate and has never been in a collection, it is untouched / as found. Some moth images on the left side. The overseas cap is constructed from an Italian gaberdine wool material. Officers silver piping is complete and fully intact. Insignia on the overseas cap are period factory applied. Both are the correct and true « flatwire » variety. They show some moderate wear but excellent. It is a size « 56 ». An excellent and desirable example of a real and worn Waffen-SS officers overseas cap.
