Description

Army field cap M43, originally made for EM/NCO, but probably continued to be worn by a promoted soldier.

Machine-woven officer-style eagle, hand-sewn over (!) an EM/NCO eagle! So there are actually 2 eagles attached!
The cockade is also machine woven and is still the EM/NCO type. An officer's piping was never attached.
Two aluminum buttons on the front with slight corrosion. The inner lining made of gray silk is stained and shows strong signs of wear and age. It is torn in several places and some seams are open. There is an illegible stamp in the middle of the inner lining. Only the year of manufacture “1943” and the size “57” can be guessed at.

The hat is in very good condition on the outside but is heavily worn on the inside. No moths.
