The Soldbuch shows the note "he is a member of the Wehrmacht but must wear the armband, he can also wear a weapon and is obliged to fight". Another entry reads "he is a civilian employee of the Kriegsmarine". Awards: 1939 War Merit Cross 1st and 2nd Class, 1939 Clasp to the Iron Cross 2nd Class, and Crusade Against Communism Medal.
